Earn a certificate that demonstrates your knowledge of natural gas pipeline safety
Developed with the assistance of local fire-fighting professionals, National Grid now offers a self-directed, interactive online training package that provides emergency response personnel with the information they need to safely identify and respond to incidents that may involve natural gas pipelines and other natural gas facilities.
This entirely web-based e-training program for first responders includes a series of educational modules, which you can complete at your own pace. These are followed by online interactive quizzes that test your understanding of the training material.
Successfully complete the online training and our advanced learning management system will generate a personalized Certificate of Completion. Such a certificate demonstrates mastery of a subject area and may satisfy additional training hours required by your department.
The modules include:
- Module 1: Gas distribution system
- Module 2: Properties and characteristics of natural gas
- Module 3: Carbon monoxide poisoning
- Module 4: Gas incident management
- Module 5: Additional potential hazards and response tactics
- Module 6: Liquefied natural gas (LNG)
- Module 7: LNG transport
